Cases

Choose a case with external power supply if you are looking to build the quietest system. Putting the power supply outside the case removes a significant heat source, which means less cooling will be required and therefore potentially lower noise. On the other hand, cases with internal power supplies provide a very neat solution where the slight noise gain is less important.

Make sure that the case:-

• Supports the motherboard size you intend to install.
• can provide enough power for the required system. Power supplies less than 100W are generally only suitable for integrated motherboards such as Intel Atom systems.
