Custom systems

We specialise in providing PCs that are almost as small as a hard back book, that look good, and still offer great value for money! With a range of processors - Intel Atom, Celeron, Pentium, Core i3 and Core i5 - we have a system to match all needs.

We can provide a small system with an external power supply for very quiet operation, or one with conventional style internal power supply for extra compactness. Some systems are even available with SSD drives for totally silent operation. Whenever possible we make full use of innovative technology such as Intel QST to ensure that your chosen SmaQ produces only the noise necessary for the work in hand.

We have cases for conventional desktop, tower, monitor mount or even for fixing to a wall. Read more about our choice of cases here.

We only use components from mainstream manufacturers, companies with a track record of providing the very best quality: Intel, Asus, Akasa, Fractal Designs, Seagate, Logitech and Kingston. For your peace of mind, each system in the SmaQ range comes with a three month collect & return warranty followed by a 9 months return to base.

Software

We install both Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu software and on both platforms you can select from a range of chargeable or free software. We don't charge for the installation of this software so if you choose free software, it is just that, free.

Free software includes packages like the excellent OpenOffice/LibreOffice application suite (word processor, spreadsheet etc) ,GIMP (image manipulation tool) and on Ubuntu, MythTV. We can also install the free Microsoft Office 2010 Starter Edition on Windows 7 systems, which includes cut down versions of Word and Excel and contains advertising (upgradeable to full editions).

If you want us to install any additional free software not listed (perhaps you have an existing printer and would like the driver installed), just tell us and we will install it before dispatch.
